Ceramic Fiber Combustion Chambers
Lightweight Ceramic Fiber Combustion Chambers for oil- and gas-fired applications
Operating Benefits
Gemcolite lightweight combustion chambers are made of high-purity, alumina-silica fiber and are usable in any residential or commercial heating unit. With a duty rating of 2300ºF, they are ideal for gas- and oil-fired applications. 2600ºF and 2800ºF rated combustion chambers are also available. Low thermal conductivity, low specific heat, high thermal-shock resistance, and outstanding durability are just some of the benefits of Gemcolite chambers. Long-term value is added to any boiler or furnace with a Gemcolite combustion chamber at its core. Special no-smoke formulations are available.

Lightweight, Adaptable, Economical
Gemcolite combustion chambers are very light in weight for easy handling and storage. Our chambers are easily cut with a serrated knife or saw and are adaptable to a verity of configurations. Chambers are shipped in protective, lightweight cartons for lower handling charges.

Aid to meet New Environmental Regulations
The combustion chambers are effectively employed to meet new environmental regulations for low emissions of pollutants such as NOx and Carbon Monoxide. Unique properties mentioned above make Gemcolite Combustion Chambers the ideal candidates to employ sealed or staged combustion using the most advanced burner technology. The thermal properties allow the designers to complete the combustion using the minimum volume, thereby reducing the footprint of the heating appliances. Tolerances of less than 0.010" are available to meet any challenging requirements.

Product Characteristics and Composition
Composition
The Gemcolite combustion chamber contains a high-temperature, inorganic binder for rigidity and optimum insulating capability. A small percentage of organic binder is also used to provide necessary handling strength. The organic binding material burns away at elevated temperatures without affecting the insulating properties of the chamber.
Chemical and Physical Characteristics
Gemcolite combustion chambers provide a high degree of resistance to chemical attack by all chemicals except hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids and strong alkalis. Insulating properties are unaffected by moisture. Gemcolite contains no asbestos.
